elements and principles of photography

leading lines
leading lines are lines that go to the main subject.
the tracks lead to the end of the track. it relates to me because i live near the railroad.
vertical lines
lines going up and down
the skis are vertical and i like to ski.
horizontal lines
lines that go from side to side or east to west.
the waves are horizontal and i love the beach.
diagonal lines
lines that go from a corner to the opposite corner
the line that divides the road is going diagonal and i am excited to start driving.
curved lines
lines that have bends in them
this wood is not straight nor diagonal it is curved. I like to fish at the beach
symmetrical balance
the picture is identical if you fold it in half
the taj mahal was made symmetrical. i want to visit india
asymmetrical balance
a picture that cant be folded in half
paper money doesn't look the same as coins
unity
a picture with different things but has one meaning
there is a group or unit of plums
variety
more than one kind of something
there is more than one type of donut
movement
a photo that has action and looks three dimensional
this skater has an action shot of riding his skateboard
emphasis
pointing out something in a picture
this subaru is drifting a corner
proportion
comparing different sizes of objects

this birdie is larger than actual size
repetition
something that shows over and over again
the bottles repeat themselves
birds eye view
a view from high up
 this shot was taken from a helicopter
worms eye view
a shot from a low perspective
shit was taken on the ground
horizon line
a line that splits the picture
the horizon line is the ocean
rule of thirds
a picture off to the side
the light house is on the right side
framing
something that encloses the object
the frame is emphasizing the wilderness
simplicity
a picture with only one object
this is only a tree
texture
makes you think you can feel the picture
reminds me of the feeling of a leaf
